Waitlist analytics

Waitlist analytics that tell you what is working.

Pied Piper's analytics: headline numbers, each with its change on the previous period, above signups over time with organic and referred signups as separate lines, signups by channel and a world map of signups by country. In front, a What to do next card. On a phone, a short written summary of the launch's numbers instead.
Referred signups get their own line on the growth chart, so you can watch the loop take over from your own posts.
How it works

From your first signup to your next move.

1. Signups arrive

From your Launch page, a form on your own site, an import or the API, each credited to the channel that first brought it in.

2. Each number is set beside the last

Signups, the share of page visits that signed up, the share that confirmed and the share that came through a referral, each against the same window before it, so a slow week reads as one.

3. You get the next move

Up to three cards say what is worth doing now, such as reviewing signups held as spam or nudging the ones who never confirmed. Each opens the screen where you do it.

Acquisition

Find out which posts brought people in.

Every outside site that sent you a signup, and the page each person joined on, from the Grow plan up.

Pied Piper's referring sites: producthunt.com 395 signups, 31.2%. news.ycombinator.com 255, 20.1%. twitter.com 231, 18.2%. linkedin.com 154, 12.2%. google.com 123, 9.7%. reddit.com 109, 8.6%. Below, the pages they joined on: join.piedpiper.com 1,234, 43.2%. piedpiper.com 1,001, 35%. piedpiper.launchlist.page 622, 21.8%.
Referring sites, ranked

Product Hunt against Hacker News against your own tweet, by signups and share. Your own pages are left out, so the list is only outside traffic.

The page they joined on

Your Launch page, its custom domain and the page on your site where your form is embedded, side by side.

Over the window you pick

Both lists follow the range picker at the top of Analytics, from the last 7 days to the last 12 months.

Referrals tab

See where your referral loop leaks.

Between signing up and earning a reward, most people stop somewhere. The Referrals tab counts how many get through each step.

The loop

Referred → verified → shared again

Referred in8,739
Verified5,23960%
Shared again1,54229%
Three steps, in order

Signed up, referred at least one signup, then reached a reward, each shown as a share of the step before it.

The biggest drop, named

The step the fewest people get through is flagged with what to try next, such as a reminder to everyone one referral away from a reward.

Your viral coefficient, in a sentence

For every 100 confirmed signups, how many arrived through a referral. At 1.00 or higher, your list keeps growing from referrals alone.

The details

The rest of what it counts.

Across four tabs, Overview, People, Referrals and Emails, plus Invites once you start letting people in.

Invites, batch by batch

Once you invite people, how many used their code, how each use was confirmed, and how every batch you invited together did.

Who is waiting

A world map of your signups, plus the devices, browsers and languages they signed up with.

Email delivery, send by send

For every broadcast and automation, how much was delivered, bounced or reported as spam, with confirmations and other system emails counted beside them.

Spam and test signups left out

Signups held for review and signups made in test mode never count toward your numbers.

Top referrers by reach

Up to ten people, ranked by everyone they brought in, directly and through the people they referred, with the reward each one holds.

Fast at any size

Totals come from counters kept up to date as people sign up, so the page opens quickly with a hundred signups or a million.

Questions

Reading your waitlist numbers.

What is a good waitlist conversion rate?
The one that is rising. LaunchList measures yours as the share of visits to your hosted page that ended in a signup, and shows it beside the same rate for the window before. Change your headline or your offer, then watch whether the rate moves.
Why does my conversion rate show a dash?
The rate divides signups made on your hosted page by visits to it. With no visits in the window you picked there is nothing to divide by, so it shows a dash. The same happens in the rare window where more signups than visits were recorded.
Do I need Google Analytics for my waitlist?
Not to measure the waitlist. Signups, where they came from and Launch page views are counted by LaunchList from your own list, with no script to add. Keep your usual analytics for the rest of your site.
Is analytics included on the Free plan?
Yes, looking back 28 days: the headline numbers, the signups chart, what to do next, the Referrals and Emails tabs and the signups map. Referring sites, landing pages, channels and the device and language breakdowns come with the Grow plan. Each plan after the Free plan looks further back.
