# Add a waitlist to Framer with LaunchList

Open the LaunchList plugin in Framer, paste your form ID and click Insert, and your form appears on the page exactly as designed in LaunchList. Prefer to drag it in yourself? Use the component. Or keep your own Framer form and send its signups through a signed webhook. Each signup gets a referral link and a place in line.

How it connects: Framer plugin, component or Framer form. Canonical page: https://getlaunchlist.com/plugins/framer. Updated 2026-10-15.

## Set it up

1. **Open the plugin.** In Framer, open the [LaunchList plugin from the Marketplace](https://www.framer.com/marketplace/plugins/launchlist/) and choose **Form**, **Widget** or **Updates**.
2. **Paste your form ID.** Copy the form ID from **Embed & API** in LaunchList and paste it in. For Widget or Updates, paste your project's public name instead.
3. **Click Insert.** The plugin puts LaunchList on your page. To change it later, select it and click **Update selected**.
4. **Publish and sign up once.** Publish the site and join with your own email to see the signup arrive in LaunchList.

## Three ways to add LaunchList to Framer

- **The LaunchList plugin.** Recommended. Open it in Framer, paste your form ID and click Insert.
LaunchList draws the form, so it matches your launch page and shows a person their place in line
  right after they join.
- **The LaunchList component.** The same thing, if you prefer to drag it in yourself from the
  [Framer Marketplace](https://www.framer.com/marketplace/components/launchlist-waitlist/).
- **Your own Framer form.** You design it in Framer. Best when you have already built the form.

Whichever you pick, a signup runs the same steps in LaunchList: the duplicate check, the spam checks,
the confirmation email if your form asks for one, referral credit and every webhook you set up.

## The LaunchList plugin

Open the [LaunchList plugin](https://www.framer.com/marketplace/plugins/launchlist/) in Framer and
choose what to add: **Form**, **Widget** or **Updates**. Paste the form ID from **Embed & API** in
LaunchList, or for Widget and Updates your project's public name, and click **Insert**. To edit one
you inserted, select it and click **Update selected**.

It shows LaunchList's own embed, so the form looks exactly as designed in LaunchList: its fields,
steps and colors. There are no style settings in Framer to keep in sync. What happens after someone
signs up is set on the form in LaunchList: your status page, a page on your site, or a message with
their place in line and referral link. Referrals are tracked across pages, and it works on every
Framer plan.

## The LaunchList component

The component is what the plugin inserts. Add it from the Marketplace, drag it onto a page and set
four things. **Show** chooses Form, Updates or Widget. **Form ID** is for Form. **Project** is your
project's public name, for Updates and Widget. **Widget** picks a signup counter, leaderboard,
milestone or countdown.

## Keep a Framer form

If your form is already built with Framer's form tools, keep it. In LaunchList, choose the Framer form
method for your form to get a webhook URL and a secret.

1. In Framer, select the form and set **Send To** to **Webhook**.
2. Paste the URL and the secret, and name each input after one of your LaunchList fields.
3. For referrals, add a Hidden input named exactly `ref`, left empty. Optionally add `utm_source`,
   `utm_medium`, `utm_campaign`, `utm_term`, `utm_content` and `_url` the same way.
4. Put the LaunchList script on the page visitors land on, in an Embed that holds only that line.
It fills the Hidden inputs just before the form submits.

The dashboard shows when the first signed signup from Framer has arrived, so you know it works before
you share the site.

Because Framer sends the signup from its own servers, nothing comes back to your page. Framer shows
its own success message or redirect, so a person's place in line and referral link cannot appear
there.

## Referrals across pages

The script remembers a visitor's referral code and UTM tags in their browser for 90 days, on any page
it runs on. A referral that lands on your homepage still counts when the visitor signs up on another
page.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I add a waitlist to Framer?

Yes. Open the LaunchList plugin in Framer, choose Form, paste your form ID and click Insert. The form looks exactly as designed in LaunchList, multi-step forms included, and what happens after a signup is set on the form in LaunchList.

### Can I show more than the form?

Yes. In the plugin, choose Updates to show your published updates, or Widget for a signup counter, leaderboard, milestone or countdown. For these, enter your project's public name instead of a form ID.

### How do I change something I already inserted?

Select it on the canvas, open the plugin and click Update selected. Looks, fields and steps are set on the form in LaunchList, so most changes need no edit in Framer.

### Do I need the plugin, or can I use the component?

Either. The plugin inserts the LaunchList component for you. If you would rather drag it in yourself, add the [LaunchList component](https://www.framer.com/marketplace/components/launchlist-waitlist/) from the Marketplace, set Show and paste the ID.

### Can I keep my own Framer form?

Yes. In LaunchList, choose the Framer form method to get a webhook URL and a secret. In Framer, set the form's Send To to Webhook and paste both. Framer signs every submission, and LaunchList refuses any that is not signed.

### Do referrals work on a Framer site?

Yes. With the plugin or the component they are tracked across pages on their own. With your own Framer form, add a Hidden input named exactly ref and put the LaunchList script on the page visitors land on from a referral link. The script remembers the code for 90 days, so it counts even when the visitor signs up on another page.

### Can my own Framer form show the person their place in line?

No. With Send To set to Webhook, Framer sends the signup, so nothing comes back to your page. Framer shows its own success message or redirect. Use the plugin or the component if you want the place in line and referral link shown on the page.

### Does it work on Framer's free plan?

The plugin and the component work on every Framer plan. A script-only Embed also works for a Framer form's referrals. Adding the script to every page through Site Settings, Custom Code needs a paid Framer plan.

### Which way should I choose?

The plugin, for the quickest start. The component, if you like to drag things in yourself. Your own Framer form, if you have already built one and Framer's success message is enough.
