Send LaunchList signups to Google Sheets
Add a row to a Google Sheet for every new signup. Connect Google, choose the columns, and see what stays in your control.
The LaunchList app for Google Sheets adds a row to a spreadsheet in your Google Drive for every new signup in a project. A row is written once and is not changed afterwards, so the sheet is a record of who signed up and what they told you. It is on the Launch plan and the Grow plan.
What you need#
- A workspace on the Launch plan or the Grow plan. On the Free plan and the Collect plan, the Google Sheets row offers the upgrade in place of Connect, and a webhook with Zapier or Make still adds rows.
- A role that can manage integrations in the workspace. Only those people see the Google Sheets row and its settings.
- A Google account. One Google account connects to one LaunchList workspace.
Connect Google Sheets#
- Open the project, then Embed & API → Overview. Under Connectors, find Google Sheets and press Connect.
- A short panel, Connect Google Sheets, says what LaunchList will do before you go to Google: it adds a row to a spreadsheet in your Google Drive for every new signup, and deletes a signup's row if you erase the signup. It can open only the spreadsheets it creates or that you choose, and your spreadsheets stay in your Drive if you disconnect.
- Under Where signups go, choose A new spreadsheet or A spreadsheet I already have, then press Continue to Google. (The choice appears when this project has no sheet yet.)
- Google asks you to sign in and to allow LaunchList. The permission reads like "See, edit, create and delete only the specific Google Drive files you use with this app". Leave that box ticked. If you untick it, LaunchList is not connected and keeps nothing, and you can connect again.
- Back in LaunchList, a new spreadsheet is created at once (Sheet created), and the Google Sheets row reads Connected with the sheet's name. If you chose a spreadsheet you have, the Choose a sheet panel opens for you to pick it. Your existing signups are added first, then each new one as it arrives. Your Google email is shown in the settings, under Connected as.
LaunchList asks Google for one permission only: access to the spreadsheets it creates or that you choose. It cannot see your other files in Google Drive, and it does not ask for access to your Google account beyond your email address.
A new spreadsheet, or one you already have#
A new spreadsheet. LaunchList creates a spreadsheet in your Google Drive called "{project name} signups", with one tab, Signups, and a header row that stays in view as you scroll.
A spreadsheet I already have. After Google, LaunchList opens the Choose a sheet panel. Press Choose from Google Drive ("Pick a spreadsheet you have. We add a tab for signups.") and pick it in Google's own window. LaunchList checks it is a Google Sheets spreadsheet you can edit and that it is not in the trash. Then it adds a new tab called LaunchList signups to it, with its own header row. It never writes into a tab it did not create. If a tab with that name already exists, the new one is numbered, such as "LaunchList signups 2".
If that spreadsheet already holds this project's tab from an earlier connection, LaunchList continues that tab instead of adding another, and does not add a signup it already holds, so reconnecting to the same spreadsheet picks up where it left off.
Renaming the spreadsheet or the tab, or moving the spreadsheet in Drive, breaks nothing.
To use another spreadsheet later, open the settings, press Change next to the sheet's name, and choose Create a new spreadsheet or Choose from Google Drive. The old sheet stays in your Drive with the rows it has and stops getting new ones. The new sheet gets the signups you have now, then each new signup. Your columns are kept. The panel's Open button, next to Change, opens the sheet in Google Sheets.
What is in the sheet#
Each signup is one row, added as the signup arrives. Column A is LaunchList ID, the identifier LaunchList finds a row by when it has to delete one. It is always there. After it come the columns you choose, with the same names as in a CSV export, and then, if you choose them, the answers to your form's questions: one column for each question.
The columns are values that are fixed when someone signs up: their email, or their identifier when your project does not use email, their name, when they signed up, their referral code and link, who referred them, where they came from (the source, UTM source, medium and campaign, and the landing page), their location and device, and the answers to your form.
Values that change after signup are not columns, such as a signup's stage, how many people they have referred, or their position in line. Open Audience in LaunchList for those, or export a CSV.
These signups are not added:
- Test signups, from your project's test mode.
- Signups held for review, which LaunchList flagged as likely spam. If you approve one, it is added then.
- Signups hidden because your list is past your plan's size. They are never added, even if your plan grows later. The settings say how many are left out, such as "3 signups hidden past your plan's size are left out."
Dates are written in ISO format in UTC, such as 2026-10-20T14:30:00Z. A value is always written as text or a
number, so something a signup typed that starts with = shows as text and never runs as a formula.
Changing the columns#
In the settings, press Change next to Columns and tick the columns you want. LaunchList ID is always the first column, and you need at least one other. Press Save.
- Turning a column on adds it at the end of the sheet. It fills for signups added from then on, and rows already in the sheet leave it empty.
- Turning a column off removes that column from the sheet, with the values in it. Before you save, the panel says so: "Turning off 1 column removes it from {sheet}." LaunchList removes only a column whose header is still its own.
You can move columns around in Google Sheets. LaunchList finds its columns by their header.
What the sheet does and does not do#
| When this happens | The sheet |
|---|---|
| Someone signs up | A row is added, usually within a minute. LaunchList waits about 15 seconds to add signups together, and it takes longer when Google limits requests |
| A signup changes, such as a new stage or a referral | Nothing. The row stays as it was |
| You remove a signup without erasing it | Nothing. The row stays |
| You erase a signup | Their row is deleted, even when Add new signups is off or your plan no longer includes the app |
| You import a list | The imported signups are added after the import finishes |
| New signups arrive while Add new signups is off or your plan does not include the app | They wait, and are added when adding resumes |
LaunchList always has the current list. For a fresh copy of every signup as it is now, export a CSV from Audience.
What you can do to the sheet#
Anything. LaunchList only adds rows at the bottom of its own tab, and it never changes a row it has written, so your edits stay.
| You | What happens |
|---|---|
| Sort, filter, add your own columns, edit cells, rename the tab or the spreadsheet, or move it in Drive | Fine. LaunchList keeps adding rows |
| Rename one of LaunchList's headers | That column is now yours. LaunchList adds its own again at the end for new rows |
| Delete a row | It stays deleted. LaunchList does not add it again |
| Delete the LaunchList ID column | New signups stop being added. Undo the change in Google Sheets, or choose a new sheet |
| Delete the spreadsheet or the LaunchList tab, or move it to the trash | New signups stop being added. Choose a sheet to continue |
If you sort the sheet, a row LaunchList deletes after an erasure is found by its LaunchList ID, wherever it has moved to.
Pause adding signups#
Turn off Add new signups in the settings ("Turn off to stop adding rows. The sheet keeps the rows it has.") and new signups stop being added. The row on Connectors reads Paused. Turn the switch on again and the signups that arrived while it was off are added, then each new one.
Erasing a signup still deletes their row while it is off. Turning it off stops nothing that protects your signups' privacy.
If something breaks#
LaunchList tells you in the app and by email when it can no longer add rows. The Google Sheets row shows a badge (Disconnected, Stopped or Retrying) and says what happened:
| The row says | What to do |
|---|---|
| Google access was removed, so new signups aren't being added to the sheet. Connect again to resume. | Press Connect again. LaunchList was removed in your Google Account, or Google ended the access |
| Google Sheets was connected without access to its spreadsheets. Connect again and allow access. | Press Connect again and keep the permission ticked |
| We can't open {sheet}. It may have been deleted, moved to the trash, or shared without edit access. Choose a sheet to continue. | Restore it or share it with edit access, or press Choose sheet |
| {Sheet} reached Google's limit of 20 million cells. Choose a new sheet to continue. | Press Choose sheet. Google's limit applies to the whole spreadsheet |
| The LaunchList ID column is missing from {sheet}, so new signups aren't being added. Undo the change in Google Sheets, or choose a new sheet. | Undo the change in Google Sheets, or press Choose sheet |
| Google Sheets hasn't accepted new rows for a day. We'll keep trying. | Nothing. The badge reads Retrying, and rows are added again once Google accepts them |
Signups keep being collected as usual. Only the sheet stops, and the signups that arrive meanwhile are added once it works again.
Plans#
The Google Sheets app is on the Launch plan and the Grow plan. If you move to a plan without it, the row reads Paused: "New signups aren't added on your current plan. Your sheet keeps the rows it has." The sheet keeps the rows it has, Disconnect still works, and erasing a signup still deletes their row. Signups that arrive meanwhile wait. Move back to the Launch plan or the Grow plan and they are added, then each new one.
Stop syncing a project#
Press Stop syncing in the settings and confirm. LaunchList stops adding rows to that project's sheet. The sheet stays in your Google Drive with the rows it has, and your other projects keep adding theirs. The row then reads "No sheet for this project yet", and Choose sheet sets one up again. If you erase a signup later, LaunchList can no longer remove their row.
Disconnect and remove access#
Open the Google Sheets settings (the gear on the row) and press Disconnect. Every project stops adding rows, LaunchList loses access to your Google Drive, and your spreadsheets stay where they are. If you erase a signup later, LaunchList can no longer remove their row. LaunchList tells Google to end its access when you disconnect. If it cannot reach Google, nothing is disconnected, and you can try again.
You can also take the access away yourself, from Google. Open your Google Account, go to Security, and open Third-party access. Choose LaunchList and remove access. LaunchList then tells you the connection is broken, and you can connect again.
Google removes access for LaunchList as a whole, not for Google Sheets alone. After you disconnect, Google may show its permission screen again the next time you sign in to LaunchList with Google.
Your data#
LaunchList asks Google only for access to the spreadsheets it creates or that you choose. It stores your Google email address and the access Google gives it, and the access is encrypted. LaunchList does not keep a copy of your spreadsheet's contents. The full wording is in the privacy policy.
Erasure. When you erase a signup, LaunchList deletes their row while Google Sheets is connected, even if Add new signups is off or your plan no longer includes the app. After you stop syncing a project, change to another sheet or disconnect, LaunchList can no longer delete rows already in the old spreadsheet. Delete them in Google Sheets yourself.
Limits#
- One sheet for each project, and one Google account for each workspace. A different Google account is refused while one is connected. Disconnect first.
- Signups are added in small groups about 15 seconds after they arrive, and Google limits how many requests LaunchList can make a minute, so a burst of signups can take longer to arrive.
- A Google spreadsheet holds at most 20 million cells. With the columns you choose, that is a ceiling on rows.
- Dates are text in UTC, not Google Sheets date cells.
On any plan: a webhook#
The app is on the Launch plan and the Grow plan. On every plan, a Zap or a Make scenario started by a webhook can add a row for each new signup, with a Google Sheets step. It adds a row once, the same as the app, but you map the fields yourself.

Common questions
Does LaunchList have a Google Sheets app?
Yes. It adds a row to a Google Sheet for every new signup in a project. Connect it from Embed & API, under Connectors. It is on the Launch plan and the Grow plan.
Which plans include the Google Sheets app?
The Launch plan and the Grow plan. On the Free plan and the Collect plan, you can still add each new signup to a sheet with Zapier or Make, through a webhook.
Does the sheet update when a signup changes?
No. Each signup is added once, as it arrives, and its row is not changed afterwards. LaunchList always has the current list, and a CSV export gives you a fresh copy any time.
What does LaunchList need access to in my Google account?
Only the spreadsheets it creates and the ones you choose. It cannot see anything else in your Google Drive.
Can I use a spreadsheet I already have?
Yes. Choose A spreadsheet I already have, then Choose from Google Drive, and LaunchList adds a new tab called LaunchList signups to it. It never writes into your other tabs.
Which signups are not added to the sheet?
Test signups, signups hidden because your list is past the size of your plan, and signups held for review. A signup held for review is added when you approve it. A hidden signup is never added, even if your plan grows later.
Can I add my own columns, sort or filter the sheet?
Yes. Add columns, sort, filter, edit and delete rows, rename the tab or the spreadsheet and move it in Drive. LaunchList only adds new rows at the bottom of its own tab, and it never changes a row it has written.
What happens to the sheet if I change plans?
On a plan without the app, new signups are not added. The sheet keeps the rows it has, you can still disconnect, and erasing a signup still deletes their row. Signups that arrive meanwhile are added when your plan includes the app again.
What happens to a row when I remove or erase a signup?
Erasing a signup deletes their row while Google Sheets is connected, even when Add new signups is turned off. Removing a signup without erasing it leaves their row where it is. After you stop syncing, disconnect or change to another sheet, LaunchList can no longer delete rows already in the old sheet.
How do I take away LaunchList's access to my Google account?
Open the Google Sheets settings and press Disconnect, which revokes the access. You can also remove LaunchList yourself in your Google Account, under Security, in Third-party access.
