Start freeWe checked 272 AI directories from Oct 14 to 30, 2026: 272 were online, and 27 of them showed new listings with dates we could confirm. 126 list you for free, and 49 of the 92 whose listings we opened gave a dofollow link (26 do both). Where a paid listing has a stated price, the middle price is $29 (29 prices).
AI directories list only AI tools, sorted by the job each tool does.
An AI directory listing does two things: it puts your tool in front of people browsing by task, and on some directories it gives you a link that counts for search. Of the 272 that answered our checker, 25 only sell paid listings and 60 ask for their badge in return for a free one, so the price, the link and the badge rule matter more than the name.
Start with the ones that are free and dofollow (Free and dofollow has them across every type), then add the few that send real visitors, even when their links are nofollow.
Many AI directories have stopped adding tools, and some only sell listings now. A few checks before you submit save you a fee or a wasted afternoon.
The best ones are online, still adding tools and give you something for the listing: visitors, a dofollow link or both. Of the 272 AI directories we checked Oct 14 to 30, 2026, 27 showed new listings with dates we could confirm, and 26 are both free and dofollow. The picks above are chosen from those facts alone.
Ten to twenty good ones is enough for most AI tools. Past that, most directories are small, and the time goes into places nobody browses. Start with the free and dofollow ones, then add the largest ones even if their links are nofollow, for the visitors.
126 of the 272 that were online list you for free, some of them only if you show their badge. Turn on the Free filter above the list to see them, or open Free and dofollow for the ones that also give a dofollow link.
We opened real listings on 92 AI directories and 49 of them gave a dofollow link. Turn on the Dofollow filter above the list to see them. A link we did not read shows as not known, never as dofollow.
Many are free. Where a paid listing had a price stated on the directory's own page, the middle price was $29 across 29 prices, and the lowest was $3.99. A paid listing usually buys a faster review, a featured spot or a dofollow link.
The directory lists you for free only if you put its badge, with a link back to it, on your site. 60 of the AI directories we checked ask for that. Each record says whether a badge is needed when the directory's own page states it.
It depends on the directory and on whether you pay. 87 of them state a review time on their own pages, from within the hour to a few weeks; a paid listing is usually reviewed first. Each record shows the time the directory states, quoted from its page.
A few are. A good one brings a small, steady stream of visitors looking for a tool like yours, and a dofollow link helps search a little. Many have stopped, and we leave those out; of the 272 we list, only 27 showed new dated listings, so pick a handful with the facts above rather than submitting everywhere.
A dofollow link from a directory other sites trust helps a little; a nofollow link does not pass search credit, but can still send visitors. We read the links on real listings, so each record says which kind the directory gives.
Some take a waitlist or a beta link. 2 of the AI directories we checked say so on their own pages. For more places that take a product before launch day, see Before you launch.
No. Product Hunt is a launch board for every kind of product, where a launch is upvoted on one day. AI tools launch there too; see Launch boards for it and the others.
How we checked: from Oct 14 to 30, 2026 our checker opened each AI directory's home page, its submit page and up to six real listings, without AI. A price, a review time or a badge rule counts only when the place's own page states it, and a link counts only when we read it on real listings. "Not known" means we could not confirm it, not that it is missing.
