# Connect ChatGPT to your waitlist

LaunchList is in the ChatGPT plugin directory. Install it, sign in to LaunchList once and approve the workspace ChatGPT may use. Then ChatGPT can read your waitlist and act on it. Codex uses the same directory.

## At a glance

- **Connects through:** The ChatGPT plugin directory
- **Approval:** Once, when you install
- **Pages:** Written as drafts, live after your yes
- **Email:** Waits for your yes

How it connects: Official app. Canonical page: https://getlaunchlist.com/plugins/chatgpt.

## Set it up

1. **Find LaunchList.** In ChatGPT, open **Plugins** and search for **LaunchList**, or open the [LaunchList listing](https://chatgpt.com/plugins/plugin_asdk_app_6ad0965291e08191b6ddde45fffd7a62).
2. **Install the plugin.** Choose **Install plugin**.
3. **Approve the connection.** Sign in to LaunchList, choose the workspace ChatGPT may use, and approve. No API key is needed.
4. **Ask about your launch.** In a new chat, ask "How is my waitlist doing this week?"

## What to ask ChatGPT

- "How many people joined this week, and where did they come from?"
- "Who are my top ten referrers? Tag them as champions."
- "Invite the first 50 people on the waitlist to the beta."
- "Rewrite the headline on my launch page to talk about saving time."
- "Publish my launch page. Show me the address first."
- "Draft an update to the waitlist about the new pricing, and show me who will get it."

## What ChatGPT cannot do

ChatGPT cannot change your plan or billing, connect a domain or delete contacts. When you ask for
one of those, it gives you a link to the right screen in LaunchList, and you do it there. It
publishes your page only after you have seen the address and said yes.

## Every other assistant

Gemini CLI, Cursor, VS Code, Grok, Mistral and any other client that speaks MCP over HTTP connect to
the same server. The [connection guide](https://app.getlaunchlist.com/help/docs/mcp/connect) has the steps for each.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can ChatGPT manage my waitlist?

Yes, once you connect it. ChatGPT can look up signups, tag and segment people, invite people, import a list, write and edit your launch page, publish it after you say yes, and send an email to your list after you confirm.

### Does it work in Codex too?

Yes. Codex uses the same plugin directory. In a terminal you can also run `codex mcp add launchlist --url https://mcp.getlaunchlist.com`, then `codex mcp login launchlist` to sign in. Both reach the same tools.

### Can ChatGPT publish my page or send email without asking?

No. ChatGPT writes your page as a draft. When you ask it to put the page live, it shows you the address and what will go live, and publishes only after you say yes. An email to your list takes two steps too, so ChatGPT shows you how many people will get it and sends only after you say yes. Publishing and sending need a verified email address on your LaunchList account.

### ChatGPT says it cannot publish my page. What do I do?

OpenAI can hold a newly added tool for review before it shows up in ChatGPT, so the publish step may not be there yet. Until it is, ChatGPT still writes the draft, and you press Publish in the LaunchList editor.

### Which workspace can ChatGPT see?

Only the one you choose when you approve the connection. To give it another, connect again and choose that workspace.
