# Marketplaces to sell your startup or side project

We checked 11 startup marketplaces from Oct 14 to 30, 2026: 11 were online. 3 list you for free.

Startup marketplaces are where founders list a startup, SaaS or side project for sale and buyers make offers. They are for selling a business, not for launching one.

## Before you list your startup for sale

A startup marketplace puts a business you no longer want to run in front of people looking to buy one. They are not launch sites: you list here to sell, and the buyer takes over the product, its customers and its revenue. The right one depends on the size of the sale, from a side project with no revenue to a SaaS with years of steady income.

Read the fees first. They come as a listing fee, a success fee on the sale price, or both, and a few charge neither. Of the 11 we checked, 3 list you for free, and each record quotes the fees from the marketplace's own pricing page where it states them.

### How to do it well

- Get your numbers in order first: revenue, costs, churn and where customers come from, month by month.
- Connect your payment provider or analytics where the marketplace offers it; verified numbers sell faster.
- Write down everything a buyer would need to run the product without you, before you list.
- Set a price you can explain from your numbers, and expect buyers to ask how you got to it.

### What a marketplace or broker charges

Seller fees come in two kinds, and the total depends on both.

- A listing fee, paid up front or monthly. Acquire's pricing page lists $25 to $100 a month, and Flippa's lists $29 for its entry listing.
- A success fee, a share of the sale price paid at closing. Flippa's page shows 10%, Microns' 6% to 10%, Acquire's 6% to 8%, and TrustMRR's a flat 3% split with the buyer.
- A broker, such as Empire Flippers, FE International or Quiet Light, handles the sale for you; ask each one for its fee in writing before you sign.

## The list

"Online" means the site answered when we checked but we could not confirm a date on its listings. "Active" means we confirmed a dated listing, shown with its date. "Not known" means we could not confirm it. Price is what getting listed costs; Link is what we read on real listings.

## Questions founders ask

### Acquire.com or Flippa: which is better for selling a SaaS?

Acquire, for a SaaS with steady revenue; Flippa, for any online business, including small sites, apps and domains. Acquire's pricing page lists a monthly listing fee and a closing fee of 6% to 8%; Flippa's lists listings from $29 and a 10% success fee. Compare the total on your own sale price.

### What fees do startup marketplaces charge?

A listing fee, a success fee or both. The fees each marketplace states are on its record here, quoted from its pricing page. A few, like SideProjectors, say they charge nothing.

### Where can I sell a micro-SaaS?

Microns, Acquire, TrustMRR and SideProjectors all take small software businesses. Microns says it wants projects at least 5 months old with paying customers; TrustMRR needs your revenue connected through a payment provider.

### Should I use a broker or a marketplace?

A marketplace for a smaller sale you can run yourself; a broker for a larger one, where someone finding buyers, pricing and handling the paperwork is worth the fee. This list has both, and each record says which it is.

### How is a SaaS valued?

Usually as a multiple of its yearly profit or revenue. The multiple goes up with steady growth, low churn, many small customers rather than a few big ones, and a product that runs without the founder. Flippa's pages, for one, offer a free valuation to start from.

### Are listings on a startup marketplace public?

Partly. Buyers usually see a summary in public and the details after they sign up or sign an NDA. Flippa's pricing page offers confidentiality with an NDA as an add-on, and Acquire's says buyers can browse public listings on a basic plan.

### Can I sell a startup with no revenue?

On some marketplaces. SideProjectors shows some listings as pre-launch or pre-revenue, while Microns says it does not accept pre-revenue projects. Expect a much lower price without revenue.

### Is it free to list a startup for sale?

On a few. 3 of the 11 marketplaces we checked list you for free; the rest charge a listing fee, a success fee or both, or do not say.

### How long does it take to sell a startup?

It varies with the price and how ready your numbers are. A small project with simple numbers can sell quickly; a larger SaaS goes through questions, checks and a handover that take longer.

### What do buyers want to see?

Clean monthly numbers, a clear reason you are selling, how customers find the product, and what it takes to run it each week. Have them written before your first buyer call.

## How we checked

How we checked: from Oct 14 to 30, 2026 our checker opened each startup marketplace's home page, its submit page and up to six real listings, without AI. A price, a review time or a badge rule counts only when the place's own page states it, and a link counts only when we read it on real listings. "Not known" means we could not confirm it, not that it is missing. The full method: https://getlaunchlist.com/directories/how-we-check.
