# How we check every place to launch

Our checker last ran Oct 14 to 30, 2026. It opens each place's home page, its submit page and up to six real listings, and records what it saw and the day it looked.

A place that has stopped adding listings (dormant), has gone offline (dead) or that our checker could not reach is left out of the guide. We keep checking it, and it comes back on its own once a check finds it live.

What it measures: whether the place answers, and listing activity only from independently confirmed publication dates, whether the links on its listings are followed, what its submit page says listing costs, whether Google may index its listings, its traffic rank (Tranco), when its domain was registered (registry RDAP) and when the Internet Archive first saw it.

A newest listing date is published only when at least two distinct product pages show their own publication dates and those dates differ. Sitemap lastmods, page chrome, widgets and copyright dates do not establish listing activity. Other observations need evidence or explicit owner, reviewer or staff acceptance before they publish.

The checks run on fixed rules, without AI. A change that is not clear-cut, such as a new price, a different link, new rules or a moved submit page, or a fact recorded for the first time, is held for review before it shows. A reviewer may accept a value only when it can quote it from the place's own page; anything else goes to our staff.

Owners can claim their listing for free and correct what we cannot measure, such as the price or the review time. Each fact they confirm says "Confirmed by owner". What we measure stays our own check, and rank never changes.

Run by LaunchList.
